Seems every time I open a devotional book lately I am reading along these lines. That God is always with me.
Going thru a deep and wide valley of loneliness right now. So, I need these gentle but firm reminders. God is always with me. No matter where. No matter who else is (or is not around) - God is. He goes before me to prepare the way. He walks with me to guide me along the way. And He walks behind me, guarding me so that no enemy can come in and attack me in a sneak attack. God is with me always.
But as a human, it is hard to always remember that. I lose "sight" of God's Presence. Because I take my eyes off Him. Not because He is hidden. Not just because He doesn't have skin on.
It is in those moments that I don't feel Him, don't see Him, don't even hear Him - in those moments He is always with me. His Presence with me is NOT conditional on anything about me!
*O Father God - Thank you that seeing you does not make you here with me. Because that means not seeing you doesn't make you not there! :-) ... I love you. Thank you for being greater and bigger than my limited sight!
