At the last meeting with Dr. Devinney, he said he really didn't know what to do at this point. All the tests show healing to be taking place. But the weakness and numbness is still there. ??? He is as bumfuzzled as we are. Sigh. He also said that he didn't think there was anything else for him to do. ??? So, what does that mean for Rick? We don't know at this point ... disability? Hopefully we will get some answers next Thursday.
Rick has to catch all his urine for 24 hours this coming Monday, and hold the dialysis bags. Turn it all in for testing on Tuesday. Praying for excellent numbers! Last time he did this, his kidneys tested at 2.2 and total was 3.79 - almost unheard of for a dialysis patient!
We will also go thru the cycler training next week - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. So rather than having 4 exchanges to do in the day, Rick will attach himself to the machine when he goes to bed, the machine will do all the exchanges while he sleeps, and Rick will un-attach himself in the morning. He will be "dry" all day again.
Praying that this will make all the difference in how he feels!
It will be strange after these 6 months of watching the clock to not have to again. But it will be a nice and welcome strange!!!
I have a checkup with Dr. Frumovitz @ MD Anderson on Thursday this week ...
And I have an appointment with Angela Doddy in SS on Friday of next week - to go over blood work, talk about the swelling in my left leg and foot, and discuss these chest pains I have been having.
Please pray for us in these next few days ... we are asking for good reports ... as well as some answers.
