The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?"
Trust in the Lord ... what more is there to say? Trust in Him.
v. 2 - 3 ... the assurance that God is in control. No matter what.
v. 4 ... "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple."
I cannot live in the church. (Although, at one time in Atlanta, Idaho, we did live IN the church. :-)) But, I can pray with a pure heart - Lord, make me a tabernacle of praise and worship for you. A place that your Presence can find rest and peace. Here with me. O Lord, I pray.
v. 5 - Rock of ages ... hide me in the cleft of the Rock ...
v. 10 ... "the Lord will receive me." There is nothing we can do that will take us out of the Father's hands. He loves us. He cares for us. His arms are always open wide to us. Just run!!!
v. 11 ... "Teach me your way, O Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors." I believe that when we seek this with a pure heart and a humble spirit, then God grants this request. He only wants the best for us - Jeremiah 29:11. Lord, lead me!
v. 14 ... "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
This is hard - especially in our "instant" society. From cell phones to microwaves, to live TV, faster Internet ... everything revolves around speed! But the Lord says - "Wait"... O Lord God, help me to be still, be quiet, and wait.
