In honor of teachers today. For all that you do, thank you. Respect & honor to you. Remembering the teachers that I have had thru the years of school, church, and all types of learning - the one that stands the tallest, and closest to my heart, is Mrs. Pogue, my first grade teacher at Houston Elementary in Sulphur Springs TX. She was not only kind, patient and loving, to a little 6 year old girl straight out of the country (think Beverly Hillbillies country ;) ) … she followed me thru all my years of education. When my picture and name came out in the paper for graduation in May 1979, within days I received a gracious and love-filled letter along with newspaper clippings and photos from 12 years. She told me how that she had loved me from the moment she met me, and that she had held me close to her heart in all these years. She also explained that she had been in contact with my teachers and had heard the "most excellent" reports about me. I was humbled to find my picture on the front page of the newspaper the day after graduation, and again, another love filled letter with that newspaper clipping was in the mail to me later that next week. Mrs. Pogue made a lasting impression on me, for being a teacher, a mother, a grandmother, and simply in being a woman. Thank you Mrs. Pogue - you truly were, and are, a diamond shining in the sky. I loved you then … I love you more today.
Why this page?
I wanted a place to share coffee thoughts & memes. I use Facebook & Twitter to do just that, however, I realize that many people are getting fed up with all the drama that is on either, and both. So many that were using those 2 social medias to stay in touch, have taken a step back - yet they still want to know thoughts that go thru this scattered widow's brain. If you are interested, here it is :) - - without the drama.
