Cream Cheese Pound Cake
3/4 pound butter
3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 pound cream cheese
6 large eggs
3 cups sifted self rising flour, preferably cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
Preheat oven to 325*
Cream butter, sugar and cheese.
Add salt, vanilla and almond extracts, mix well.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Stir in flour
Spoon into greased tube pan.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours
Cool for 15-20 minutes. Then invert cake onto serving dish. remove tube pan.
*If you wait too long, the cake will stick*
--I use 1/2 can of frosting (whatever we happen to be in the mood for at the time), and heat in the microwave for 20 seconds (less if you have a newer microwave). Just until the frosting is thin enough to pour and make a drizzle on the cake.
