This is just my opinion, but if you or a loved one is a diabetic - please, get professional Diabetic Counseling. It will help you with the coping skills of dealing with all the stress that surrounds living with Diabetes. It will help you to realize (and to LIVE) the truth - you may have Diabetes, but Diabetes does not have you! To be able to pour out your fears and worries, your struggles and trials, and to share your little victories (that really aren't so little) with someone who truly "GETS" it as a diabetic - - WOW! Life changing! Check with your Diabetes clinic and/or doctor. The counselors are there for YOU & your loved ones. Use them! Please.

This is concerning:
60% of U.S. college students consider themselves to have a cell phone addiction.
71% of people sleep with or next to their cell phones.
35% of people think of their cell phones when they wake up while only 10% of people think of their significant others.
44% of 18-24 year olds have fallen asleep with their phone in their hand.
36% of people check their phones constantly, while 54% of young adults are checking constantly.
Nearly 40% of people never disconnect from cell phones, even while on vacation .
44% of Americans say they couldn’t go a day without their mobile devices.

Sadly, these statistics do not include pre-teen & teenage users. Teen Cell Phone Addiction

I took this test some time ago, and I was shocked (dismayed) that I scored as high as I did. In the time since, I have tried hard to make changes. This morning I took the test and although the score is still higher than I want it to be, it is lower :) So I count that as a step of victory in the right direction. Now to continue working towards a lower score. I can do this! I will have a cell phone, but the cell phone will not have me! 💪There is a life to be lived without looking at the screen … people around me to interact with … and I need to spend some precious time with ME, cause I am worth it. I like having a cell phone to stay in touch with family & friends, for information when I need it - BUT, it needs to be a tool in this life. NOT life itself.
Take the test for yourself. Have someone who observes you regularly take it on your behalf. Take the test from your perspective as a parent or grandparent. Believe me, it is a wake up call - to LIFE!

I love this picture.
Before cancer invaded our lives.
Before diabetes tore his body apart.
Before.
Life wasn't perfect -
but Oh how we loved one another!
After all this time, I can still remember how it felt to nestle right there, his arm around me, my hand on his chest.
After this picture was taken, he kissed me on the forehead.

Reminding myself that no matter what others think, or say, or do - I know my heart.
My intentions are good.
My heart is pure with love, honor and respect. Also reminding myself that sometimes it is better to not feel.
Motions not emotions.
Just rollin' with the flow.

    Why this page?

I wanted a place to share coffee thoughts & memes. I use Facebook & Twitter to do just that, however, I realize that many people are getting fed up with all the drama that is on either, and both. So many that were using those 2 social medias to stay in touch, have taken a step back - yet they still want to know thoughts that go thru this scattered widow's brain. If you are interested, here it is :) - - without the drama.

God is God over the storms in my life & world -
and I am His.
Trusting in Him. Holding to His Promises as He holds me.

Learning to laugh, to love, & to live ... again - without Rick, but with God

Life goes on ... even when we don't want it to.

Great grief is indicative of a great Love.

Rick, my Sweetheart.
Margaret, his Beloved.
Always & Forever.
