I have always loved to read ...
reading takes me wherever I want to go - to another place, another time.

However, grief has changed my reading habits.
It is more difficult to keep my attention in a book,
for my thoughts and memories wander more often these days.
I get lost in remembering the many, many, many books that Rick and I shared -
how that we would read them often aloud to one another ...
and how that we always discussed the books we were reading individually or together.
I miss that.

I am going to be writing about the books I read in some of my posts.
For my own memory, and perhaps to encourage someone else to find their joy and peace in reading.

I am finding that I read more and more these days,
and I have a growing list of books that I want to read.
But also finding that some of my "tastes" have changed, which is interesting to me!
Being a widow has changed a lot in me.

So, here I am ... being this adventurer in reading once again - and yes, that makes me happy!

Some of my favorite authors & books - -
John Grisham
Grace Livingston Hill
Brenda Wilbee & the Sweetbriar Bride series
Just about anything published by Bethany House
The Love Inspired stories
Zane Grey
Louis L'amour
The Green Mile by Stephen King
Lonesome Dove
Max Lucado
Gary Roe
Gilbert Morris

I love history - especially American history, or Texas history
loving our Confederacy history more and more
as well as the stories I am finding within the genealogy searches.

    About "Sunshine"

The first time I was called "Sunshine" I was about 10 years old, walking out of the Sunday School room and I met our pastor in the hallway.
He said, "Well, good morning Sunshine!"
    The name stuck :)

All thru grade school, jr high and continuing into high school.

When Rick and I got married, he shortened it to "Sunny".

Even now, I am still called "Sunshine" by many.

I am a woman who loves her God, and strives daily to live this life in honor to Him.
I stumble and I even fall, but God & His Grace is greater.

I have been a widow now for 7+ years.
Learning to live this life alone, after almost 35 years together is proving to be a test I never studied for.

    Some days, I am victorious,
and other times I am not.

I am also a proud Momma and Grannee.

With all the changes of the last few years (and believe me, everything has changed), the questions remain, at least in my heart now:
    Who am I?
Where am I supposed to be?
What am I supposed to do?

You are welcome to join me on the discovery of the answer.

God is God over the storms in my life & world -
and I am His.
Trusting in Him. Holding to His Promises as He holds me.

Learning to laugh, to love, & to live ... again - without Rick, but with God

Life goes on ... even when we don't want it to.

Great grief is indicative of a great Love.

Rick, my Sweetheart.
Margaret, his Beloved.
Always & Forever.
