![]() Life at Coffee Creek ... so much better than life at the old house. I don't mean that ugly or hateful. But we spent 2 years of our life sitting in that old house. I had to have 2 surgeries, Rick had to have 2 surgeries. We dealt with all the doctor appointments and therapies. We fought thru all the discouragements and bouts of depression. The loneliness was overwhelming. Hours spent watching TV (mainly Rick) and on the Internet (mainly me). And it seemed that no matter what we did - even walking on the treadmill and using the elliptical - we just were not getting much better. Not spiritually better, not emotionally, not mentally, not physically. Sigh. So, we prayed. And we prayed. And we prayed. Asking God to deliver us! To save us! To make us to Live and not die! ![]() Rick was approved for disability - based on his dialysis. And they paid him for the year before! So we were blessed! And we were able to buy an RV ... Now what to do ... So, we pray again. And our desire was and is - to minister. Not necessarily to pastor a church again, but to minister. And that opens up a whole world of opportunity. But where and how to get started??? So, we pray ... again. And in one moment of looking around on the Net - I typed in working out of the RV ... there is a sight for work camping. And there is a listing on that site that caught my attention - Coffee Creek RV Park. (1) I Love Coffee!!!!! (2)I look at the location - about 2 hours from our daughter, and about an hour from our son. Email the owner - Scott Rash ... and he calls ... after a conversation - he wants us there! We spend a week trying out the RV, and then we spend a week closer to Joshua and his family. And we are here ... ![]() Loving the people ... enjoying the park ... and able to do the work! There are 12 bathrooms here in the park, cleaned every day (or almost every day). Kathy is a work camper as well, and she helps with the bathrooms. There are 14 cabins here, and they are cleaned after someone leaves, and checked again before being rented again. We have helped with escorting campers in ... And I have helped Miss Mary Ann with the supply closet ... Trash is taken off every day as well. And Rick is the "pool-police" ... LOL. We also help to clean the Texas Star and the Spur - the two meeting houses that are here. One seats about 150 and the other about 75. Scott has asked us for 2-4 hours per day, 5-6 days per week ... or as needed. There are days that we are finished in 2 hours, and days that it takes nearly the whole day. And weeks that we have 2 or 3 days off, and weeks that we have no days off. Just depends on the busy-ness of the park. The work is not hard. It is detailed - because everything needs to be Clean. But that's ok - cause we like Clean!!!!! I try to keep in mind - how would I want the bathrooms, or the cabin, or the meeting houses, to look if it were us, or our kids, going to be using them? How do I want my own house and bathroom to look? I can do no less for Scott and Coffee Creek! ![]() Every Monday night we have a meal together ... meeting at the Texas Star. So much laughter and good conversations. Everyone pitches in and brings food ... and everyone helps to clean up. It has been a good way to meet our "family" here. John ... finding out this past week that he grew up in Cumby, TX! And that we know some of the same people and places! That was cool! Praying for him - he is fighting cancer. I Hate Cancer!!!!! Glenda ... she is so precious! Her hugs are a treasure! She sang in country music for several years, has recordings - cool! Kent ... he is fast becoming more than a friend - he is a brother! Brock & April ... precious and sweet. My "kids" - lol ... Eddie and Patty ... Glenda's son and daughter in love. He reminds us of Uncle Lonnie. He drives a truck - so of course, he and Rick hit it off! Lol Marvin and Pam ... oh how very sweet they both are! Lucky and Debbie ... he starves the park when he cooks! Oh my! How good it smells! And it tastes just as good! Lisa ... a sweetheart! Praying for her - she is facing shoulder surgery this next month. Jeff ... he is work camps, too. Hard worker ... great sense of humor. His son plays well with our grandkids. Tommy and Kathy ... they work camp as well. He also works in the oil business and is gone a couple of weeks at a time. He is a Longhorn fan - which is fine, until football starts! And then, Roll Tide!!!!! Lol Steve and Janet ... precious couple. They help out around the park when things get crazy. And they man the office on Sundays so that Don & Mary Ann can get a break. There are others that I know by sight and by RV not by name yet. But all of the "home folk" are precious! They are friendly and open, helpful and engaging. --it is good to have friends ... co-workers ... neighbors ... people that you can talk with and count on. It is good. ![]() Scott has put us in a yard! When we first got here, the space he parked us in had little grass growing. He said that he had tried to get grass to grow, but to no avail. But after me falling out of the trailer twice and landing on the hard and rocky ground, and us dealing with the Mud when it rained ... thankfully, Scott bought the sod and put us a yard in! It looks awesome!!!!! I find myself praying over it - that it will take root and grow! Not only because it is cooler, and less muddy - but I think of the cost to Scott and the work that he, Jeff, and Glenda put in to lay it. So, yes, I pray over our yard! --and it rains! So now we don't have to water, and as much as it has rained this morning? Probably won't have to water for several days! Thank you God!!!!! Rick built a "porch" - of sorts. It is not a large one, but larger than that bottom step of the trailer! Not so easy to fall now. (Even if i did fall - SPLAT! - ON the porch the other morning coming back from taking a shower. My feet were wet due to the rains, and I guess my foot slipped off when i stepped up on the porch - SPLAT!!!) Course, Kent - who works for the Texas Highway Department - says that he is going to bring home a can of the fluorescent orange paint and put me an "X" on the porch ... at least give me a target for landing! LOL
