![]() How does that happen??? A month since I have written here. I have the intentions of writing daily. And then LIFE happens ... and another month has passed by. Sigh ... So now to catch up ... Part One ... ![]() We returned the Penske truck on Monday, March 24th. Had to go to Rockwall for the nearest dealer. But got it done. Thank you Lord! Called my cousin, Milton, and he with his wife, joined us at Cracker Barrel in Greenville for lunch, laughter and hugs. It was good. I miss him when we aren't together. It is so good to see and to hear what God is doing in his life! Rick's dad came home from the hospital on Tuesday, March 25th. He had had to be admitted the previous Saturday. He was breathing extremely hard, dehydrated yet with fluid build up, congestive heart failure, and a possible light heart attack. The hospital got him stable and changed his medication a little, gave them some instruction on what he should be eating and drinking (and not), as well as what he should be doing. *He is doing very well now in this last month - thank you Lord!* Wednesday, March 26th - Rick and i went in for eye exams and new glasses. I can SEE!!! Praise the Lord!!!!! We also bought me a new computer - which i have yet to get all set up and ready to go! (Told you it had been a crazy month! LOL) ![]() Rick had his appointment with Dr Greenwell and the Dialysis Center on March 26th. A good report. *Total blood count at 10.6 --just a tad lower than what they want, 11 *Potassium at 4.8 --perfect! *Phosphorus at 7.3 --still too high, but working on taking the binders with his food. That has proven to be the toughest challenge to date - to remember to take those binders at the second bite of food. *Albumin (protein) at 3.8 --great. They want it to be at 4.0 but no lower than 3.6. Another great challenge for Rick. He gets so tired of eating PROTEIN!!! He is a meat eater, but he LOVES his veggies!!! Hard to get in the habit of eating more meat than veggies. On Thursday, March 27, we did LAUNDRY ... 18 loads! OUCH!!! Yes, we went to the laundromat. Just easier that way. Most of it was due to bringing all our stuff out of storage after 7 years in! Clothes we didn't even remember having! Blankets and towels that i had used for packing and covering. ![]() We have spent time with Rick's cousin - Pat, and her son (ours, too), Charlie. Charlie and his sister lived with us for a while back years ago when they were kids. He's almost as much mine as he is Pat's! LOL They are moving from Sanger, TX to Como. Pat's husband, Big Charlie - Charlie's dad - passed away a few weeks ago. And she wanted to be closer to family. So, we have been "helping". If you can call conversation, hugs, laughter, and cooking/eating "helping". LOL. Charlie and our daughter Mandy have not allowed Rick and i to do much at all in unloading or unpacking. They say they are too worried about Pat or Rick or Me falling and hurting ourselves. We have been fussed at and ordered to just sit down! LOL When did the kids become the parents? LOL
