The story behind this video ... Brock is our resident critter killer - he is fearless for us. Except when it comes to scorpions. Then, he is terrorized by them! It has been said that everyone has their kryptonite - well, Brock's is a scorpion. A little over a month ago, he was at the office one morning, poured a cup of coffee. It spilled a little. He reached for a paper towel, and a scorpion fell out on his leg! According to the eye-witness report, he jumped, did a little dance and screamed like a girl! LOL ... A few days later - Memorial Day weekend - Rick and I had a get together with all our kids and grandkids. Due to the storms that day, and the water that was running thru our yard, Scott allowed us to use the back porch of the Texas Star to have our family meal. Us being us - and as our family grows - Kent, Scott, Tom & Mary, Brock & April, all came for the meal. It was a wonderful time! Filled with laughter and tall Texas tales! LOL During the course of the time together, Scott tells -very animatedly- the story of Brock and the scorpion. Howls of laughter filled the air! Everyone was "rolling on the floor laughing" - not at Brock's terror of scorpions, but of Scott's re-telling, and of Brock's defense! LOL Just as the last of the laughter quieted down, April said - "Oh, there is a scorpion now!" To which Brock replied - "Stop it! That's not funny!" I looked and sure enough, a 3-inch scorpion was crawling on the floor under Brock's chair. I quietly said, "No, there is one - right there." Brock looked down, saw it, and I have never seen moves like that from anyone! Oh my word! Within a breath of time, he put his hands on the arms of his chair and he leapt out of his chair, vaulting about 4 or 5 feet away - never touching the floor! When he landed, he was like running in place, his mouth open, eyes wide, and little to no sound coming forth. We all just looked at him - Oh my word! LOL Then the realization that we had just witnessed his true "Scorpion Dance" hit all of us! The laughter was deafening! Brock's face turned umpteen shades of red, and he was laughing sheepishly, too. Ok - this was so good that it deserved a place in "history". So, Rick and I talked to a lady in Sulphur Springs, and she made a T-shirt for Brock. We asked Scott to do the presentation to him during one of our Monday night meals. The intention was to do it the following Monday night. However, life just kept happening ... and 4 weeks later - finally ... Brock & April as well as Scott were all at the Monday night meal. This is the video of the shirt presentation ... LOL - enjoy! Oh, and Brock - we love you! Thank you for being so sweet about all this!
